18 Years old or older unless you have permission from owner to play here at Hampden. Thank you

The Hampden Paintball Club is a group of people who love the sport of paintball. This is woodsball, dress appropriately for the weather. Bring something to keep hydrated. WE play most every Sunday (check Facebook events) Try to get there between 9:45-10:30. We want to start shooting by 11:00 at the latest.
We play year round! Yes, all winter too!

All Games are organized through our Hampden Paintball Club on Facebook click the link to request to join.

We have HPA fill stations (3 - 3000PSI Scuba Tanks) and host a BBQ every Sunday. The field is BYOP (Bring your own paint, NO Monsterballs, Firststrikes allowed)

$5 to play. Comes with HPA all day

A waiver must be signed before you can play. We will also have waivers ready on site.

Do you have insurance? If you don't be careful charging people to play, homeowners ins. will not cover you.

We do not have insurance but we charge not for playing but for the cost of the air and food, if you walk on the field with your own paint and air then it's free. Also, our waiver states that you play at your own risk and that no liability is taken by the field owners.

However, we have not discussed the legality with a lawyer or anyone like that so if you have some insight on how to make the field "legally" safer then by all means we're open to suggestions.

Edit: I changed the info to reflect that the "prices" of play are actually requested donations. We won't refuse you to come play if you can't donate for air/food but still need some air to finish out the day or just munch on a handful of chips.

I would talk with a lawyer, also talk to your homeowners and give them a heads up. Waivers sadly aren't worth the paper there written on. Just the way of the world. They protect you as long as no one sues which is the reason you have someone sign it in the first place. Mad Good luck!

Good advice stonehodg, I'm going to see about talking to a lawyer to find out what is the best way to proceed. From what I've read online though it looks like for being a (technically) private, free field that we have much less liability than a commercial field and this, combined with the waiver, should protect us from any lawsuits.

The only issue I can find is that if someone did decide to sue us then we would have to hire a lawyer out of pocket to defend us. But, yes, this is good advice and we're going to look into this (or at the very least check to see if we can get our homeowners insurance to cover it).

At the very least, it is worth noting that unlike a field, since we are not insured you, as a player, should understand the play at your own risk deal, I'm sure many people would be turned off by this and rightly so, it's definitely a big deal if you got hurt and, for whatever reason, your medical insurance didn't cover some or all of your injury costs. Also, do keep in mind that this is technically a private field, we might not want too many people one day, we might want to protect our liability and don't feel we can trust you, so if we, for whatever reason, turn you away that's it.

Well, I feel that this thread got a little negative (though it's, as I said, very good advice) since the whole point of this field is for people to have a good time. So, yeah, if you want to play some good, ol' fashioned backwoods paintball then stop on by.

So, I talked with the field owner and he said that they did indeed talk to an insurance agent about this and he informed the owner that as a not-for-profit private field, as long as we didn't have any gross negligence and had people sign our waiver, that there's very little liability that we have.

Anyway, so we're a small field but growing. If you're in for some recball then come on in. If we start getting too big we'll probably start a signup sheet for people to come play.

Also, we're going to try branching out a bit (or at least I am and I'm sure other people will come with me) to other fields around the state and possibly to Skirmish for "INVASION OF NORMANDY" http://www.skirmish.com/ion/ion_promo.html

Hmmm....I am 100% sure MMA would have many interested guys for this. We have our own HPA Scuba tanks and have our own paint and have a good deal of guys that love woodsball (myself included)...

May just have to put a gravity hopper on my vice and have some good old woodsball fun.

That's a good amount of views. Nice vid, I'd like to see what you could do with more footage and a nicer camera.

lol, I have a metric buttload of fans since I've been doing tribute videos to the amazingly awesome show "Freeman's Mind". Actually one of my vids has almost 100,000 views (and it's my worst, lol).

Anyway, sometime I'm hoping were going to make a paintball "movie", kind of in the theme of something like black hawk down with a simple script and what not. We'll be using a really nice HD camera for that.
