Shingles...Stoked

Post by Stanks on Mon Apr 11, 2011 8:46 am

School doctor diagnosed me with shingles...Wonder why when I have to do left in the school year includes 3 papers, 2 project presentations, etc. etc. make arrangements to move to San Diego etc.

This sucks. And to top it off, they think it has moved to one of my eyes which could = blindness. Always an epic battle.

Thanks Chief. I'm a little odded out by it because it doesn't really hurt. My eye is a bit itchy but I ain't touching that or the area that seems infected.

See if your doctor will write you a prescription for a lidocaine topical cream. I make it at work a lot for people and children with chicken pox and other rashes. It will numb your nerve endings that way it doesn't itch and you can leave it alone to heal.

Already went to the doc. up here and they didn't prescribe anything. MY doctor, my personal one, is in N.H. and I'm seeing them when I go home in May. I can't go home any sooner because I have too much crap to do up here.

I was going to say to see a legit doctor but I didnt want you to think I was saying anything about the school's doc in a negative sense. I know sometimes a school associated doctor is sometimes a intern or newbie, or is just cheap and trying to save the school some money.....But ya definitely go for a second opinion...

Sucks you can't get a prescription. I would go to your local pharmacy and pick up a topical anesthetic cream, a good over the counter relief would be Capsaicin or calamine.
