Larp / Foam Swords

Anyone ever heard of this fun activity?

Apparently its where you take foam swords and beat the s*** out of people (not really, supposedly it doesn't hurt), and its supposedly popular. The swords are generally ghetto modded ones made out of pool sticks or high end latex foam ones. Sounds fun and cheap.

Discuss.

P.S. I'm seeing thoughts of outlaw play beating people with these.

And ah zimmjeff.

But think. Get 30 guys dressed up in foam armor beating each other with foam swords or whatever. Wouldn't it be fun? Or at least hit the neighbor once or twice?

LARPing happens a lot at my university (thats what I get for going to a computer and technical university). At first all the people wearing costumes bugged me, but now I'm so used to it, I don' even notice anymore.
