I think this was a great idea while it was up in the air. Is everybody just going let this thing die? This is Maine's chance to build army or huge family of people who love the game. I would have loved to see a Huge group of kids at one field, that are just eager and hungry to learn about the game as I am.

I agree with George about the whole family thing. Could we get at least one huge gathering of paintball players in Maine this summer and see where it goes from there.
Re: I want your opinion
Kinda like Vicious. They're the main power in Nebraska, and they grow their talent from farm teams.

i think this is a great idea. every since maine paintball lost a member back probably 5 or six years ago it seems like everything fell apart from there on out.

I don't see a lot of competitive interest in paintball. Playing recreationally is excellent and that's great but I was hoping to see a lot of young kids hungry to play hard and learn and be aggressively competitive. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of that here and it's unfortunate.

I think the reasons are
practices and dedication ,kids (rookie players starting out) don't seem to want to have a competitive practice in paintball. They would rather kill nubs all day (further killing the game and killing there chances of getting better). AKA fear of losing in practice
money obviously Your spend money in paintball
BAP it self.
the fear of getting shot so much by 12.5
scenario play (which is fun and good for the industry) vs xball
No one to look up to, to shoot for and beyond, I know everyone thinks the Canes are cool and they want to be pro ect. I don't think any one who did not play paintball till 2008 has been to nppl Boston 07 or 06 to watch them play or played against them for that matter. So how could you really look up to them? You did not play them so you don't know how good they really are? You don't even know if they are even nice guys ( I've been told Thomas Mantoni is very arrogant and just plain mean and self centered and the rest of them are not so cuddly and lovable from what I have been told. )
What about the local heroes who had call backs from the Canes tryout? My personal goal was to play for the guys who had the best track record in tournaments in Maine. Splatz esg (80% of SK) They won the NEPL series in 2007 and got 6th place at nepl. What interested me was that one game it and splatz was down like on 2 bodies and the other team had 6 I think. Splatz came out with the win. Thats what gave me drive and interest to keep becoming better. That and I talk to Mike Hingman about one of my favorite players from Aftermath at the time LIl Kenny and watching him stab so many guys with his midget like speed.
But idk thats what drives me.... Its different for everyone, what drives them to climb the mountain, there are different paths up it. Some longer, some shorter, some rocky, and some smooth. Hopefully we could help making it shorter and smoother.I know Sk is not the greatest thing out of new england, but trying to build an army to make us become more united as a state, might help put Maine at the top of NE. It worth a shot, you'll never know until you try it.

The case time and time again with Maine PB is that 100% of the people online here will talk the talk but when it comes time to walk the walk only 3% of us commit. If you guys show the interest and want to come out and work with us we will be more than happy to toss you a few points and work on your game with you. But you have to come up to us at practice and ask for it. We can't read minds.

Re: I want your opinion
Having a massive Maine team would help a bit. But it's like some others said. The better part of Maine ball players are into the 21" barrel, response trigger, camouflage and woodsball persona. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Maine balling is hard to come by. There are few competitive (REALLY COMPETITIVE..as in at least practicing every other week and competes in a few or more tournies a year) teams above Portland.
As for what someone said of the canes and everyone wanting to go pro? Ahh...I can't say that I would ever want to play pro paintball. It's not for everyone. But it would be great if we have a pro team straight out of Maine.
I would commit to this. But I don't see the drive that I do down in NH / Mass (where I reside in the summer).

Richie wasn't saying that this website was a failure. He was stating that, what WE as shadowkillers wanted to see out of Maine isn't tangible yet and perhaps never will be. This website is f*** fabulous, I like it a lot. But as fir the idea we presented, that's the failure.
