MainePB Teams

Turmoil started when Tyler Oversmith left/was cut from the speedball team Unknown Energy. Tyler thought of leaving the competitive paintball scene until his best friend since kindergarten Mike decided he would get out of the woods and play some speedball. aspirations of playing the Splatz summer series in 07 the problem was getting a third player.

For the beginner we found a local kid who had played once before. His name was Damien. We went down and did okay we won two games and lost three. The next SSS rolled around and we still could not find a third player. We finally found one in caleb. Caleb was a woods player for all of his paintball playing life. But me and mike pitched in and got a third speedball setup reedy for him. We played in the SSS Bangor and did ok. But what we took from that day is that Caleb had a lot of potential to be a great front man. For the rest of the season us three went to Splatz open play about once a month. Caleb bought a new marker and things where really looking up for not only for team Turmoil but paintball in general.

Winter passed and we started getting reedy for the 08 season. but before we could even compete in one tourney Splatz was shut down and we had nowhere to play. The rough times where hard on all of us especially Caleb who wound up quitting because we never played. So we Where back to where we started, Tyler and Mike and whoever else we could find. During late 08 we found Dylan who was at that time shooting a spyder. I don't know if we saw something in him or it was just that needed another person but we gave him a shot and asked him to be on our team.

It’s about the spring of 09 now and we where all thinking of throwing in the towel. I was checking my “I’m Quitting Sale” on PBN when I came across MainePB and learned about the V-Town series. My team and I decided to give it a shot. When the V-Town came around the team consisted of Tyler, Mike, and Dylan. This was Tyler and Mike’s third tourney and Dylan’s first tourney and his sixth time playing. I took a little while before we shook off the rust after not playing for almost a year but we did and wound up getting third. The next V-Town look good for us until the night before we found out that one of our players could not make it. We wound up finding someone who had never played before and we wound up not doing so well.

Today turmoil consists of three players. There is Tyler, Mike and Dylan. We want to play some NEPL but we know it’s just a dream, finding enough for a three man team to do local events is hard enough. We plan to play a lot of the V-Towns and other local events next year because paintball in Maine seems to have found some form of life support.
